Episode 4
Nora Roberts, and the 5 Million Books She Has Written. One of the True OG's of romance novels.
Get The Book
It's only taken us 3 episodes but we are finally chatting about one of the OG Queens of romance novels and that is the estimable Nora Roberts, who has written over 225 novels 🤯 and is still cranking them out at what we assume is the tender age of 106 (it's actually 71). Nora was the true beginning of Krista's romance novel addiction and she hasn't stopped since. In this episode we talk about our jealousy of the authors writing process (well, some of them) because who wouldn't want to wake up, have some tea, go for a walk, read for a few hours, then sit down after lunch and write for a few hours - umm, yes please. Sounds like the life! We also discuss how much we loathe novellas and anthologies, the gorgeous imagery that Nora creates in every book, the critical themes of friendship and family that are necessary for every romance novelist, ghostwriting, and finally, we have created a sex scale to be applied to all the novels we are reviewing on this podcast, and Nora ranks pretty damn high. 9/10 if we are being honest. Don't knock the books that your Mom and Grandma have been reading their entire lives, we promise you'll love them too! Today, we look specifically at her writing for trilogies, as she seems to have a thing for writing in 3s.
